Frequently Asked Questions

Does Comtec® sell used presses?

From time to time we do have used machines available. Used machines that are sold by Comtec® first have to go through a rigorous inspection process by expert Comtec technicians. After inspection, the presses are usually refurbished back to Comtec standards and to comply with UL and NSF certifications. To find out if we have any refurbished Comtec presses, call or email Comtec Sales staff.

Are spare parts available for my used Comtec® press?

Typically parts and support are available for presses that are less than 15 years old. Over the years, we have made changes to our presses to improve reliability, improve safety and comply with UL and NSF certifications. In addition, many parts for older machines have been discontinued by the manufacturer, or the manufacturer has gone out of business. The best way to find out if support is still available for your press is to get the machine’s serial number and call or email Comtec. All Comtec® presses have a serial number on the machine’s nameplate which is located near the on/off switch. More recent models also have the serial number stamped on the pump spacer, directly beneath the motor near the oil fill cap.

How long are parts and support available for my Comtec® press?

Typically parts and support are available for presses that are less than 15 years old. The best way to find out if support is still available for your press is to write down the machine’s serial number and call or email Comtec. All Comtec® presses have a serial number on the machine’s name plate which is located near the on/off switch. More recent models also have the serial number stamped on the pump spacer, directly beneath the motor near the oil fill cap.

Isn’t a used press just as good as a new press?

Not necessarily. Comtec continually works to improve their products to improve reliability and safety. While most of the changes are not apparent to the end user, they greatly affect compatibility and availability of spare parts. Additionally, newer Comtec® presses now meet the strict certification guidelines of UL and NSF. These certifications have required us to redesign parts of the machine and have also necessitated the obsolescence of some parts.

How do I find out if there are still parts and support available for my Comtec® press?

The best way to find out if support is still available for your press is to write down the machine’s serial number and call or email Comtec. All Comtec® presses have a serial number on the machine’s name plate which is located near the on/off switch. More recent models also have the serial number stamped on the pump spacer, directly beneath the motor, near the oil fill cap.
